The Story
Back to the roots on this record. Working with Ali Shaheed from Tribe Called Quest and his protégé Beetle was a high point for me. The single What’s The Flavor was the best production I had done on my own to that point. This album was so different from my first two. The East Coast influence was thick from track to track.
What’s the Flavor?
What’s the Flavor? is the third album by rapper, Young MC. The album was released in 1993 and was not only his last album for Capitol Records, but his last for a major record label. The album was even better than his previous album Brainstorm, had two classic club bangers, the title track ‘Whats the Flavor?’ and ‘We Can Do This’, and further cemented Young MC as a hit maker.
